Make no mistake about it, folks: I totally dig Electric Eel Shock. Just when I was craving something really original, this CD shows up in the mail. Electric Eel Shock’s sound is really funky, rock ‘n roll/punk rock fusion, with deep, distorted Black Sabbath-esque bass. The influence is evident in the opening lines to track three, “Rock ‘n Roll Can Rescue the World”: “My god is early Black Sabbath. Every day, every night I like Ramones, and Bob, and John, and Jimi, and Stevie.”

And yes, there is another band on this split. The Get-Go are pretty decent , and though I don’t care much for the vocals, two of the five songs they contribute are fantastic instrumental jams. You absolutely cannot go wrong with this CD!
