According to Entertainment Weekly, the Peanuts comic will be turned into a new animated film from Twentieth Century Fox Animation and Blue Sky Studios.
Charles Schulz introduced audiences to Charlie Brown, Linus, Lucy, and the rest of the Peanuts 62 years ago, and now, his son Craig Schulz and grandson Bryan Schulz are set to write a screenplay to reintroduce the beloved characters. The film will be directed by Steve Martino, who most recently directed Ice Age: Continental Drift and Horton Hears a Who!
The Peanuts movie will hit theaters November 25, 2015, just in time for the 65th anniversary of the very first Peanuts comic and 50th anniversary of the Christmas classic A Charlie Brown Christmas.
“We have been working on this project for years,” Craig Schulz said in a press release. “We finally felt the time was right and the technology is where we need it to be to create this film.” (via Paste)
