As reported earlier, a Jimi Hendrix biopic starring OutKast‘s André 3000 is in the works, but it does not have the backing of the Hendrix estate. According to The Wall Street Journal, Experience Hendrix LLC released a statement saying that the estate “has made it known many times in the past that no such film, were it to include original music or copyrights created by Jimi Hendrix, can be undertaken without its full participation.”

Experience Hendrix LLC has no opposition to the idea of a film about Hendrix’s life, but in order for one to come to fruition, they require the inclusion of the estate in decision-making processes. (via P4k)
