Saxophonist Clarence Clemons of the E Street Band Dies

TMZ is reporting that saxophonist Clarence Clemons died today, June 18th, of complications from a stroke he suffered on June 12th. He was 69 years old.

“The Big Man” joined Bruce Springsteen‘s E Street Band in 1972 and performed on hits including “Born To Run,” “Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out,” and “Dancing In The Dark,” among many others. He collaborated with other artists including Aretha Franklin, Ringo Starr, Jackson Browne, and the Grateful Dead, and appeared in a number of movies — including an appearance as one of “The Three Most Important People in the World” in the Future Council in Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure.

Clemons was married five times and had four sons:  Clarence III, Charles, Christopher and Jarod.
